Citigroup hires two senior JPMorgan bankers to boost investment banking

Investing.com -- Citigroup Inc (NYSE:C). is hiring two senior bankers from JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE:JPM) to strengthen its investment banking division, according to a Bloomberg report on Wednesday.

Aloke Gupte will join Citigroup as global co-head of equity capital markets, working alongside Doug Adams. Gupte will be based in London for this position.

Alex Watkins will take on the newly-created role of head of technology financing at Citigroup. Watkins will relocate to San Francisco and handle both debt and equity financing in the technology sector.

Both Gupte and Watkins previously ran JPMorgan’s equity capital markets business outside the United States.

The new executives will report to Achintya Mangla, who leads Citigroup’s financing business.
