Trump launches Bitcoin-themed NFT: $24,750 for VIP dinner
Trump Launches Fourth Series of NFTs: Bitcoin-Themed, Up to $24,750 for VIP Privileges
Following the hot sales of Bitcoin sneakers last month, Trump has launched a new round of NFT series.
On the evening of August 27, Republican presidential candidate Trump announced the fourth series of NFTs on social media: "America First" digital trading cards. This batch of NFTs offers various purchasing options, the most notable being that by purchasing 75 NFTs (valued at $7,425), one can gain the opportunity to have dinner with Trump in Florida, as well as several privileges including limited edition sneakers.
Although NFT royalty income is not included in Trump's political fundraising, data shows that Trump's fundraising in July was far lower than his opponents. By the end of July, Trump's campaign team had $151 million in cash, while his opponents had $220 million. In light of this situation, Trump urgently needs to boost his momentum through a new NFT series, especially to attract cryptocurrency supporters. In this NFT promotional video, he reiterates his positioning as the "crypto president."
New NFT series highlights: Bitcoin elements and generous rewards
This batch of new NFTs follows the Trump theme, with a total of 50 digital card designs, including images of Trump holding Bitcoin. These NFTs will be issued on the Polygon blockchain, with an expected total of 360,000 pieces.
The official website offers various purchasing options. A single NFT is priced at 99 dollars, and purchasing 5 will earn you a pair of Trump gold sneakers, with the first 1000 pairs being numbered. Higher-end options include:
Purchase 15 NFTs ($1485): You will receive rewards such as a fragment of the suit worn by Trump during the debate (limited to 2024 pieces, some signed), a pair of platinum gray high-top shoes, and two pairs of gold low-top shoes.
Purchase 75 NFTs ($7425): You will get a chance to have dinner with Trump and rewards such as limited edition sneakers.
Purchase 250 NFTs ($24,750): You will receive two VIP dinner tickets, enjoy cocktails with Trump before the dinner, and also receive sneakers and 25 unique versions of Bitcoin inscription NFTs.
Trump stated in a video release: "At the request of the public, I am launching a new series of digital trading cards. Everyone knows what they are, and we've been having a lot of fun with them. Many people call me the cryptocurrency president, although I'm not sure if that's true, but indeed many people say so."
The performance of the previous few rounds of NFT has been poor, and Trump is eager to create momentum for the election.
As of August 28, the floor prices of Trump's first three rounds of NFT series have significantly declined. The first series dropped by 35.86% within 30 days, the second series dropped by 37.48%, and the third series dropped by 24.57%.
Nevertheless, Trump is still actively preparing for the election. He confirmed that he will participate in the television debate with his opponents on September 10 and plans to appoint two new co-chairs for the transition team to enhance appeal to voters.
Since the current president withdrew from this year's election, Trump's leading advantage in the polls has been surpassed by his opponents. He urgently needs to generate momentum for himself and attract more fundraising.
In contrast, the opponent team raised $540 million over the past month, including $82 million during the national convention. In July, the funds raised by the opponent were four times that of Trump.
Reports indicate that the campaign rallies attended by Trump are fewer than in previous years, especially after encountering security incidents. Some supporters have questioned his campaign strategy, expressing concerns about the lack of a clear agenda and strong actions. However, the Trump team has stated that they are prepared for the final push in November.
