America is about to run out of time to pass the crypto law, the industry faces long term risks.

Chairwoman of the Blockchain Association and Filecoin Foundation, Marta Belcher, warns that the time for America to pass crypto regulation laws is gradually running out. On this week's podcast Decentralize, she calls on Congress and industry leaders to act before the 2026 election cycle distorts the current momentum.

Belcher emphasized that passing laws to clarify the legal framework for stablecoins and market structure is "extremely urgent" before the beginning of next year. She is concerned that if they wait until after the August recess of Congress, other priorities may push the crypto issue aside.

Citing the period when the SEC under Gary Gensler sued numerous major projects, she warned: "At that time, anyone starting a crypto venture in America had to be very daring to do so."

She calls for compromise across the industry: "This bill is vital. It is not perfect, but we must work together to get it done."
