This marks GameStop's first step into the Bitcoin market, their strategy is similar to companies such as Strategy ( previously MicroStrategy). As of February 1, GameStop reported a total of $4.78 billion in cash, cash equivalents, and marketable securities. GameStop's shares rose 4.4% in premarket trading after the announcement.
